Eva Wiener–Holocaust Survivor

Eva Wiener

Hello Everyone!–

Recently, I had the privilege of interviewing Eva Wiener, a Holocaust survivor and frequent speaker regarding the tragic consequences of hatred and bigotry.  At this pivotal time in our nation’s history when our country still remains divided, Eva reminds us that the United States still stands as a beacon of freedom and liberty for all people, no matter their race, religion, or ethnicity.  Through Eva’s eloquent words, we recall the importance of not repeating the mistakes of the past.

Eva (Safier) Wiener was one of the youngest passengers on the ship, St. Louis, on its famous Atlantic crossing of 1939.  Eva’s parents, seeking escape from Nazi
persecution in Gereman, obtained passage to Cuba but were denied entry.  Eva and her parents were fortunate to be admitted to England, where they survived
the war.
